How Much Does A Bathroom Renovation Cost?

The cost of your bathroom renovation will vary depending on your bathroom size and the scope of works required such as whether there will be plumbing & electrical changes, finished tile heights, the fittings and fixtures you select etc. This can get very complicated so we’ve created a general budget guide below, which strives to be affordable without compromising on quality or service.

Budget and Cost Guide

From $18,700 – $25,300: A basic bathroom renovation
From $26,400 – $36,300: A standard bathroom renovation
From $30,800 onwards: A luxury bathroom renovation

These figures are for complete renovations (not partial), and include GST, fixture and fittings, permits, warranties, insurances (inc. HBCF insurance, compulsory for projects over $20K), labour, materials and shower screen. These figures are calculated with a combination of factors such as previous project data, current prices and rates for qualified labour, fixtures and fittings and insurances etc.

Just for reference, the Housing Institute of Australia (HIA) suggests that the average spend of a bathroom renovation is $26,000 as of June 2023, and can cost anywhere between $8,000 to $35,000 and more depending on scope of works, fixture and fittings etc.
